Maybe it’s a case of people going crazy from the heat, but in any case a rash of arrests for various incidents have raked Mono County during the past few weeks.
On July 22, Mono Narcotic Enforcement Team (MONET) officers arrested June Lake residents Robert Mitchell, 21, and Amanda Sharp, 19, on charges of possession of controlled substances and maintaining a residence for the purpose of drug sales or use. Inside the residence, officers reportedly found a marijuana growing operation, more than two ounces of hallucinogenic mushrooms, along with quantities of LSD, ecstasy and hashish.
Dustin Gene Rasnick, 25, of Mammoth Lakes was arrested and booked in Mono County Jail on July 30 on a charge of assault with great bodily injury after allegedly fighting with a local cab driver. The victim told officers Rasnick reached from the back seat and choked him after Rasnick was told that he and his friend owed extra cab fare because the other passenger had vomited in the back seat.
