June Lake Winter Festival
The June Lake Winter Festival Feb. 1-3, will be a weekend of snow-themed family-friendly events including snowman building contests, snow sculptures, snowball shot put, music and more. And it’s all free!
The weekend also features the Triple Threat Winter Triathlon with snowshoeing, cross country skiing and laser rifle shooting. Biathlon athletes, first-timers and kids are all welcome! ($30 registration for Adults; $15 for kids – Register at Active.com).
Later in the season, don’t miss the Snowmobile Festival, Friday – Sunday March 1-3. The three-day event includes a Snowmobile Poker Run where participants will ride to different locations around the Loop and receive a playing card at each stop. The person with the best hand at the end of the ride wins.
And Saturday there’s music in June Lake at different locations around the Loop: Jan. 19, Feb. 2, Feb. 16, March 16.
Sunrise Rotary cut-a-thon

Soup with the Supe
The public is invited for SOUP (Superintendent’s Open Updates Process) with Mono County Schools Superintendent Dr. Stacey Adler on Wednesday, Jan. 23, from noon-1:15 p.m. at the Mono County Office of Education, 451 Sierra Park Rd. in Mammoth Lakes, adjacent to the Library.

Friday night skate lessons
Ice skating group lessons are scheduled every Friday night (weather permitting) at the Mammoth Ice Rink.
Lessons last 45 minutes for a fee of only $10 per student with a maximum of 8 students per session. Classes are open to Elementary, Middle and High School age students, and adults.
Times: 6–6:45 p.m. for Elementary, 7-7:45 p.m. for Middle and High School, and 8-8:45 p.m. for Adults.
Fee includes ice-time, excludes skate rental. Purchase five lessons in advance and get the 6th Lesson FREE!

MMSA hosts safety breakfast
Join Mammoth Mountain’s Operations Team for a special Safety Breakfast in conjunction with National Safety Awareness week, this Saturday, Jan. 19, starting at 9 a.m. in the Main Lodge’s Mountainside Conference Center.
Enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast with Mountain Operations leaders and the Hill Safety Team. Learn about our new Keeping Mammoth Kids Safe campaign and other safety initiatives. Team members will be available to chat about safety and answer questions during the event.

Ever wondered what it’s like to be on Mammoth’s Jr. Snowboard Team? Now’s your chance! Enjoy a FREE half-day session riding and training with the Mammoth Team on Sunday, Jan. 20 and Saturday, Feb. 23 from 1-3 p.m. The Jr. Snowboard Team is a group of dedicated athletes who train hard to develop the skills they need to excel in their sport, while also promoting good life skills and strong work ethic in whatever discipline they pursue.
The session is open to intermediate level snowboarders ages 6-16. No previous park experience necessary. Come on up for a weekend, get a discounted lift ticket, and see what it’s like to be a part of the prestigious Mammoth Snowboard Team.
