Motorcycle accident on SR 120
On Friday, May 30, 2014, at approximately 10:38 a.m., California Highway Patrol (CHP) Bishop Communications Center received a report of a motorcycle collision on SR (State Route) 120, approximately two miles west of Poole Power House Road. A CHP officer from the Mammoth Lakes Resident Post responded to the collision location and initiated an investigation into the cause of the incident.
The driver of the motorcycle, Mr. Jean-Francois Rouhette, age 48, of Rueil-Malmai, France, was at the scene being attended to by medics. Mr. Rouhette had lacerations to his face and appeared to have a dislocated finger on his left hand.
Investigation showed that while Mr. Rouhette was negotiating the curve in the roadway and for unknown reasons the bike left the south side of the roadway. Once the motorcycle came in contact with the dirt shoulder it turned over and ejected Mr. Rouhette on to the dirt shoulder. Mr. Rouhette was wearing motorcycle safety equipment. Mr. Rouhette was transported to Mammoth Lakes Hospital by Mono County Paramedic/Fire Rescue Medic 2 from June Lake.
