Caltrans District 9 Director Tom Hallenbeck announced the award and approval of a $1,680,486 project in Inyo County on Hwy 190 in Death Valley National Park at and near Furnace Creek from 3.6 miles east of North Highway to 0.1 mile west of Badwater Road (Furnace Creek). The contract was awarded to Las Vegas Paving Corporation from Las Vegas, Nev., and consists of placing Hot-Mix Asphalt Overlay (HMA) on existing pavement.
Las Vegas Paving Corporation began construction on April 23 with an anticipated completion date is May 23.
The traveling public is advised that during daylight hours there will be lane closures and flaggers slowing traffic. Anticipated delays are less than 20 minutes.
When approaching the construction zone, the traveling public is advised to reduce their speed, observe the construction signs, and watch for construction personnel and equipment. -Press ReleaseShare Email This Post
