Martin wows at Latin Grammys

After a knockout performance at the 12th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, Singer/Songwriter Violeta Martin from Mammoth Lakes will lend her talents locally by headlining the Official Town of Mammoth Lakes Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, Dec. 2 in the Footloose Sports parking lot.

The Los Angeles-born and Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico-raised Martin teamed up Eastern Sierra producer/composer/guitarist Byron Fry, who took Violeta’s melodies and wrote the musical arrangements for her 2008 debut album, “En Busca del Amor.” Continuing her journey into the “New Latin Pop,” genre, Martin is currently mixing her follow-up album in Burbank. The Tree Lighting will begin at 5:30 p.m. Kids won’t want to miss Santa’s traditional Mammoth arrival, escorted by the Mammoth Lakes Fire Department!

Santa counts down to tree lighting

Santa counts down to tree lighting

Santa and his reindeer anxiously await the Town of Mammoth’s Tree Lighting Ceremony set to take place Dec. 3 in front of Footloose Sports.

The ceremony begins at 6 p.m. so stop by and enjoy complimentary hot chocolate and cookies while you sing along to your favorite Christmas carols and stay warm around the many fire pits. You can also exchange your old holiday lights for FREE clear or multicolored LED energy efficient lights courtesy of the High Sierra Energy Initiative.
