According to Mammoth Lakes Town Clerk Jamie Gray, the Council race, or at least the number of people thinking about running, continues to grow. Planning Commissioner Sharon Clark pulled papers today, which brings the number of those people who have pulled papers up to eight. Only two of those eight, however, have actually filed their paperwork. Matthew Lehman and Tony Barrett are officially in the race for the three Council seats that are up for election on June 8. The remaining six individuals who have pulled papers but have yet to file are Rick Wood, Kirk Stapp, Allen Blumer, John Eastman, Dawn Vereuck, and Clark.
According to Gray, if none of the three Council incumbents, Eastman, Wendy Sugimura and Neil McCarroll file for re-election the the deadline for filing paperwork would be extended to March 17. At this time however, the deadline is still set for Friday, March 12 at 5 p.m.
