Cary Shibley, March 9, 1972-April 6, 2010
Cary Shibley is survived by her loving parents, Brian and Kathy Shibley of Crowley Lake, her brother, Steve, of Bishop, and extended family throughout California and Nevada. She grew up in Crowley Lake, and loved the outdoors and sports, engaging in cycling and snowboarding, bonding with her adoring dad and brother during all-day fishing excursions, and enjoying long, memorable hikes with her mom.
She was fearless in her sports activities, conquering many a trail on her bike. With an easy-going manner and many talents, Cary also had the most giving heart and vibrant personality. Her love for dogs and their owners was immeasurable. She was entirely dedicated to her Spoiled Rotten Pet Grooming business in Mammoth, and cared deeply about her customers. She could work with any animal’s temperament, and had the ability to connect with and calm four-legged friends.
There are countless wonderful things we can say about Cary, and we will forever cherish our memories of her. Her beautiful spirit will endure in the minds and hearts of those who know and love her.
Ed. Note: Many have written tributes and notes of love and remembrance for Cary and her family, including this one note, hand-delivered by teary-eyed friends Ricky & Molly, who said: “Cary, can’t count the tears for you. You will always be in our hearts.”
A memorial service welcoming Cary’s friends in the community will be held on Sunday, April 18, in the Crowley Lake Community Center from 4-7 p.m. A memorial slide show and potluck dinner are planned. Contact Tony Barrett and Robin Stater to contribute food and photos you’d like to include in the slide show.
