Reds Meadow Road now open

The Reds Meadow Road, with access to the Devils Postpile National Monument, opened to the public on Thursday, June 24. An above average snowpack may persist in the coming weeks and may limit the ability to open campgrounds and trailheads. (Starkweather, for instance, was still under a couple of feet of snow as of press time.)

Mandatory shuttle service also commenced on Thursday, and will through Wednesday, Sept. 8. Shuttles will depart from the Main Lodge every 20 minutes during peak times and 30-45 minutes during off-peak times. The first shuttle will depart the Main Lodge at 7:30 a.m. Shuttles depart from the Village to the Main Lodge at 7:15, 8, 8:45, 9:15, 10:05 and 11:05 a.m.
