Last Tuesday, certified US Chess Federation coach Christian Fuller took on a handful of challengers simultaneously in an exhibition match at Snowcreek’s Bistro Bar and Grill. Fuller is offering chess clinics at Snowcreek starting Tuesday, January 25 at 7 p.m. for elementary students and Thursdays for middle school and high school students. The cost for 6 sessions is $80 for club members and $90 for non-members. As for the exhibition, Wolf participated. “It was only the second time I’ve ever played chess (being a Stratego guy),” he said, “and figuring Fuller would stomp me in 5 minutes, I was both surprised and excited when I managed to last for an hour and a half. This was mostly due to the good fortune I had of sitting next to local attorney Randy Gephart’s 10-year old boy genius, Joey Gephart, who besides playing his own game against Fuller, was essentially making all of my moves for me. Thank you Joey for making me look smart.” For info on Fuller’s chess clinics contact Snowcreek at 760.934.8511 x104
