In a press release on Jan. 26, the Town of Mammoth Lakes announced that its Town Manager, Rob Clark has been selected by the City Council of Ojai to be their next City Manager.
Clark expressed his thanks to all of the nine councilmembers whom he has served over the past seven years. He said “The councilmembers have had to address some very challenging situations both in the boom years and now during the recession. These people devote an incredible amount of time to their duties for very little compensation, and are subjected to intense scrutiny.”
Clark also had high praise for the Town staff. “I have worked for a number of cities for over thirty years and I have never seen a more talented, dedicated and hard working group of employees in any other city. It has been an extraordinary pleasure to be a part of a team that has continued to move the Town forward in so many ways. We truly should be appreciative of the deep concern both current and past employees have exhibited for the wellbeing of this community.”
The Town Council will meet in closed session on Wednesday, Feb. 2 to discuss options for filling the Town Manager position in the short and long term, since Clark will assume his new duties on Feb. 21.
Prior to becoming the Town Manager of Mammoth Lakes in 2004, Clark served as City Manager of Avalon on Catalina Island and Deputy City Manager of Laguna Beach.
