Kaya Turski and John Teller were welcomed home during a special event at Mammoth Mountain this past Sunday. Both Turski and Teller walked away with gold medals at this year’s Winter X Games. The two athletes signed autographs and took a lap with attendees of the event.

At the X Game events, Turski didn’t waste anytime showing the team’s dominance. The 22 year-old went in as the defending champ of Women’s Slopestyle. She won last year’s event as well as the inaugural Winter X Games Europe and maintained her gold crown again this year. Turski’s efforts prove that you don’t have to start skiing as a toddler to dominate – she’s only been skiing for five years.

Teller, Mammoth’s hometown hero, is a former lift maintenance crew member. He made history this month as the first American to win a World Cup Ski Cross Race and he dominated X Games – he won gold in Men’s Skier X. For all the latest news on Teller, check out www.johnteller.com.

A third Mammoth athlete, Tyler Flanagan who won bronze in the Men’s Snowboard Slopestyle, was unable to attend.
