Winter weather comes back to Mammoth

After more than a month of warm weather in the Eastern Sierra, old man winter seems to have found his way back. Forecasts for this week for Mammoth Lakes are predicting wind and snow. Accumulation won’t really begin until Tuesday night and right now it looks like Wednesday will be when the majority of the snow will gather. Approximately 1-3 inches are expected Tuesday night and anywhere from 4-12 inches are expected throughout Wednesday.

The Mono County Sheriff’s Office reminds everyone to put their winter driving caps back on for the upcoming week. Carry extra food, water and clothing in your vehicle in case you are unable to arrive at your destination and have to remain in your vehicle for an unknown amount of time due to weather or road conditions. Also, watch for snow removal equipment and pay attention to parking restrictions.
