Got a little Mammoth Taxi in you?

If you haven’t seen the Captain Morgan logos on Mammoth Taxi’s five suburbans, well, as Geico asks, “what do you live under a rock?”

For almost two months now, Mammoth Taxi has been part of Captain Morgan’s “Drink Responsibly” campaign by wrapping its taxis in the adult beverage’s logo.

“It’s really twofold for us,” explained Mammoth Taxi owner Scottie Marzonie. “It’s about sustaining the taxi business but it’s also about responsibility.”

Marzonie and his company have always been about allowing people to go out and have a good time while staying responsible by not drinking and driving.

“Captain Morgan jumped on that bandwagon with their ‘Drink Responsibly’ message,” Marzonie said, referring to the company’s commercials (remember the guys who go into the pizza shop and ask for a pizza to be delivered to their house so that they can get a ride home?).

So, Marzonie entered into a two-month contract with Captain Morgan for January and February. The wraps have made his cars highly visible, which is a great asset.

“People look for Captain Morgan and know it’s a taxi,” Marzonie explained. “It’s a respectable, clean way of marketing.” One that Town officials, the community and the Mammoth Lakes Police Department have been able to appreciate, especially since the Town is also being responsible by making sure all taxis are properly licensed and insured.

And the cabs aren’t just getting noticed throughout town. They are also highly visible at the airport where Mammoth Taxi is a consistent source of transportation all year long.

“We are the courtesy shuttle for the majority of the lodging businesses in town,” Marzonie explained. “We are making Mammoth more accessible without a car.” Mammoth Taxi offers many services such as driving people that are here without a car to pick up their keys for their lodging unit and/or taking them grocery shopping.

With the success of this season’s Captain Morgan campaign, Marzonie will continue to look at appropriate marketing strategies for different seasons.
