ICARE 15th fundraiser

Get your tickets for the 15th fundraiser for Inyo (and Mono) County Animal Resources & Education, at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, in the Charles Brown Auditorium at the Tri-County Fairgrounds.

Catering (including a vegetarian option) is by Whiskey Creek; dinner tix are only $15, Evening includes a silent auction, raffles, door prizes and a live auction of art, special furniture and more. A full-size doggie quilt will be raffled off, donated by Quilters in Stitches.

Java  Joint Cooking Class

The crew at the Java Joint had a blast with their Spanish Tapas and French Feast classes, and this time the theme is “Keep It Simple: Hors d’oeuvres/Dessert & Wine,” on Wednesday, April 6, at 6 p.m.

Tix: $25/person and as always BYOV (bring your own vino)! Lynne will handle Appetizers, Taty will lead on Desserts. The duo promise you will leave sated and with recipes! (Menu to follow soon.)

Banff Mountain Film Festival

Join Wilson’s Eastside Sports this weekend, April 1-2, when the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour brings the spirit of outdoor adventure to the Eastern Sierra, at the Charles Brown Auditorium of the Tri-County Fairgrounds in Bishop.

Both nights feature different films with athletic adventures, humor, mountain culture and incredible mountain scenery. Stops are planned in 350 communities and 32 countries. Approximately 260 films entered the annual festival, where award-winning films and audience favorites were picked to travel the globe.

Tix: just $10/person per night, available in Bishop at Wilson’s Eastside Sports and Inyo Council for the Arts, and in Mammoth Lakes at Access Art and Business Center. For additonal information and list of films, visit www.eastsidesports.com or 760.873.7520.

String Theory benefit

Join String Theory, Gillian McChesney and guests at Mill Creek Station, Mill Creek Rd & U.S. 395, northwest of Bishop on Friday, April 8, starting at 7 p.m. for an evening of acoustic music, originals, Irish, Country, Folk, Latin, humor, fiddle, mandolin, guitars  and vocal choruses.

Support the Bardini Foundation, a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization dedicated to inspiring everyone to experience tidings of the mountains instilled by John Muir’s “right manners of the wilderness” through recreation, education and conservation.
