Mule Days: The Documentary
A screening of “Mule Days: The Documentary” will be held for free at the Bishop Twin Theater Saturday and Sunday, May 28 and 29, at 12:30 p.m. The viewing marks the culmination of a three year labor of love for a young group of Los Angeles filmmakers. From clowns to cowboys the documentary delves into the lives of some of those participating in Bishop’s annual Mule Days celebration held every Memorial Day weekend for the past 42 years. Not surprisingly, there is a kaleidoscope of interesting characters who make up the Mule Days cast. You don’t have to be a fan of mules or the hoopla surrounding Mule Days, however, to find something to enjoy in “Mule Days: The Documentary.”
Filming on the documentary began in 2008 and blossomed into a three year project, edited on nights and weekends by filmmaker Joe Peeler. The project is entirely self-financed.
The score features original bluegrass and Americana music which will be performed live at the free screenings. Seating is first come, first seated and is limited to the 250 person capacity theater. –Press Release
