Now for something positive
Fill a bag, make the Town sparkle
This Saturday, Mammoth Lakes Recreation Manager Stuart Brown asks residents to remember what Town Cleanup Day is all about.
“We are shedding our skin and sprucing things up for our summer guests,” Brown said. “It’s about giving back to the community, not just about residential cleanup.”
And after a heavy and extra long winter, the Town is definitely in need of a shine.
After a little back and forth, green waste (pine cones, tree branches, etc.) will be accepted, although Brown does request that it be separated from trash and recycling materials. Residents are also encouraged to take these items directly to the Mammoth Disposal Transfer Station where a chipper will be available, free of charge, between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday. Bulky items such as refrigerators and appliances will also be accepted free of charge during the same hours.
Orange bags will be picked up from June 13-15 by Mammoth Disposal.
“You fill it up, we’ll pick it up,” Brown said. “A bag a person really helps.”
As usual, a complimentary community picnic and raffle will be held at Mammoth Creek Park at noon.
