KMMT/KRHV holds pie auction

KMMT and KRHV radio will hold another one of its annual pie auctions to benefit local charities. Tune in on Wednesday, Nov. 23, starting at 8:30 a.m. to hear what sweet concoctions are up for bids and how to get in on the action.

Proceeds from the auction will beneift Eastern Sierra Breast Cancer Alliance and also the family of Nate Gratz, who was paralyzed during an accident while swimming in the ocean.

KMMT/KRHV on-air personality Stacey Powells is coordinating the auction and is still taking donations of pies for the auction. Call 760.934.8888 to donate or email staceyonair@yahoo.com.

Arts Council Gallery moves

Mono Council for the Arts Gallery has relocated! The Gallery is still in the Mammoth Luxury Outlet Mall, but is now just up the sidewalk from Perry’s Italian Café in Suite S.

Still showing: Mono Council for the Arts Gallery presents Autumn Colors photo exhibit, including photos by Aaron Horowitz through Nov. 30.

The Gallery will hold a relocation housewarming & holiday party Friday, Dec. 9, from 5-7 p.m. Wine and refreshments will be served and you can get your portrait with Santa!

Gallery hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m., 7 days/week. More info: contact the Gallery at 760.937.1810. See you there!

IRWMP hosts CEQA workshops

As part of Task 6 of its Planning Grant, the Inyo-Mono Integrated Regional Water Management Program (IRWMP) invites the public to a series of California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) workshops. Four workshops will be held: in Bridgeport (Dec. 8), Mammoth Lakes (Dec. 9), Bishop (Dec. 14) and Ridgecrest (Dec. 15) in an effort to reach the maximum audience in our region.

Wild and Scenic film festival

And with December nearly upon us, it’s time to purchase tickets for the Wild & Scenic Film Festival on tour, coming to the Eastern Sierra with three stops, Dec. 2, 3 and 8.

This year’s venues are the Edison Theatre in Mammoth Lakes (Friday, Dec. 2), Cerro Coso College in Bishop (Saturday, Dec. 3) and the Lone Pine Film Museum (Thursday, Dec. 8). All shows begin at 7 p.m.

Take advantage of a special membership offer and get a free ticket to the festival when you become a member, renew your membership or make an end-of-year donation!

A $35 donation gets you 1 free ticket, $50 gets you 2 and for $100 or more, you get an All-Festival Pass for two!

Visions of Mono Lake

The Eastern Sierra Interpretive Assn. is partnering with the Mono Council for the Arts to bring the “Visions of Mono Lake” art show to the Mono Basin Scenic Area Visitor Center in Lee Vining.

This show will highlight the spectacular views of the lake as seen though the eyes of many of our local artists such as, Elizabeth Kenneday, Pat Crowther, Aaron Horowitz, and more. Artwork will be available for viewing and purchase from now through Nov. 28. The Visitor Center will be open Friday-Monday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
