MMSA offers new, centrally-located child care option in the Village (Photo: MMSA)

Mammoth Mountain is now offering new child care services in the heart of The Village at Mammoth, making it more convenient for parents who want to spend the day conquering the slopes or the night out on the town while giving their children an equally fun experience.

The new child care facility, for ages 2 to 6, makes it easy for parents to ski, ride, shop and dine while the kids are being taken care of in a state licensed facility. The staff is professionally-trained, educated in the field of child development and has gone through background checks. Best of all, the new Mammoth Mountain Child Care facility is within walking distance of lodging in The Village, so parents can easily transport their little ones to the facility, dropping them off and picking them up with ease.

Kids have fun in age-specific rooms with selected activities, arts and crafts, music, story time, games and rest time. Hot nutritious lunches are served as well as two snacks per day.  In addition, parents can enroll kids 3-6 years who are ready for the slopes in Ski Lesson Combination Packages.

The resort offers multiple options including an evening babysitting service ideal for parents who want a little romantic alone time together.

Child Care Activities (Ages 2-6)

Children ages 2-6 are welcomed by enthusiastic and qualified caregivers with a planned activity-filled day. Inside, children participate in singing and stories, arts and crafts, dress-up play, video games, fun with blocks, games, puzzles and toys and much more. Outdoors, weather permitting, children play in the snow or go on a gondola ride and after lunch, settle down for quiet time. Mammoth’s caring staff tunes into each child’s individual needs and to help him or her enjoy their time in the mountains. Advance reservation pricing ranges from $99 to $129 per day. $25 hourly rates also available.

Ski Lesson Combo Package

This program is designed for young skiers age 3-6 not quite ready for a full day of Ski School , but still wanting to hit the slopes.  Children are grouped in classes based on age and ability level. Children not able to participate in several hours of lessons spend the day at Mammoth Child Care, where he or she can play and/or rest. The program includes child care, lesson, lift privileges and supervised lunch. Lessons last three to six hours, depending on age group. Advanced reservation pricing ranges from $175 to $196 per day.

Evening Babysitting Services

Parents who want extra time to rest, relax, shop and dine can bring their kids in for an evening of cookie decorating, Wii tournaments, creating crafts and indoor play time with qualified caregivers for only $20 per child (sibling rate $10 per hour). Available Fridays, Saturdays and holidays from 4:30 to 9 p.m. for ages 2 to 6 years.

In addition to the new child care location in The Village, Mammoth Mountain Inn next to Main Lodge continues to offer child care and combo care/lesson packages for infants up to 6 years old.
