Lakes Basin to open soon

Town of Mammoth Lakes employees opened the gate to the Lakes Basin on the morning of April 23 so they could begin plowing and blowing the snow from Lake Mary Road in an effort to get the area open to recreationists. What little snow was left on the road was melting quickly under the hot sun.

The road is open to pedestrians but will remain closed to vehicles until conditions warrant access.
