Nevados robbery

Nevados owner Tim Dawson reported this week that his restaurant was robbed … not necessarily broken into, but definitely robbed.

“It looked as though someone came in with a pass key,” Dawson said.

Once inside the culprit(s) ate a meal, drank, threw up on the floor, put their cigarettes out in the carpet, and stole a great deal of high end liquor as well as food and the restaurant’s 37” Vizio television. The restaurant had been closed for spring cleaning, shoulder season, etc., so, as Dawson explained, the robber(s) had plenty of time to hang out without anyone knowing they were there.

“I’m disappointed,” Dawson said. “This is the second time this has happened in our 34 years, so overall we’re not that bad off, but it’s disappointing when you try hard to be nice to everyone and this is what you get.”

Dawson is so vexed he is offering a $500 reward to anyone who can lead him to the culprit. He doesn’t expect to get his goods back – he just wants the robber to be punished.

So, if you happen to attend a party or see someone in your neighborhood dining on lamb loin and lobster tails while sipping Patron, Crown Royal, Ketel One or other high-end liquors, give Dawson a call at 760.258.6938, or report it to Detective Doug Hornbeck at the Mammoth Lakes Police Department.
