Scott Andersen Memorial
Family and friends of Scott Andersen will be gathering at 11 a.m., this Saturday, Aug. 11, in front of the Silver Lake Resort store, to place an engraved rock in his memory.
Scott was known for decades around the June Lake Loop as an excellent fisherman. Tired of only visiting Silver Lake for his once a year vacation, Scott finally retired as a manager from Ralph’s Grocery, and began spending all season long at Silver Lake, never having to shave, cut his hair, or wear a tie again.
During the late 1990s, Scott became one of the hosts for his beloved Silver Lake campground.
Always wanting to give back to Silver Lake and its campers, almost every hour of daylight, Scott would be around the campground cleaning the bathrooms, picking up trash, shoveling out fire rings or cutting brush.
Scott Andersen passed away in December 2011. He was a resident of Hawthorne, Nev.
