Updated: NYC Marathon a go

Updated Monday, Nov. 5: The marathon was canceled on Friday, Nov. 2, leaving many runners who had traveled to the city for the weekend without a race to run.

Don’t look for 2009 NYC Marathon Champ Meb Keflezighi in Mammoth this weekend, he’ll be in New York running the 2012 Marathon. NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Wednesday the race is a go. Keflezighi has six top-10 finishes in seven New York City marathons, and last year ran a personal best of 2:09:13 in the race. In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Keflezighi told the media, “It will be motivation to say, `Look what happened, and we’ll put on the race, and we’ll give them a good show.’” Run to win, Meb!
