Mammoth Mountain Ski Teams weekend racing results

The U14 members of the Mammoth Mountain Ski Team raced at home last weekend in the U14 Mono Cup Slalom. On Saturday, Jan. 5 Delaney Kearns was on the podium in 14th place for the ladies and Barrett Calvin (5th), Lachlan Anderson (10th), James Gooch (11th), Cole Williams (14th) and Erik Eisen (15th) for the men.
On Sunday, Jan. 6 Eva Yguico was 10th for the ladies, while Barrett Calvin celebrated his birthday with an 11th place finish for the men. Connor Staley, who was in 20th place after his first run, had the fifth fastest second run and end up taking 15th place.

Carlson and Wormhoudt Take Top Podium Spots at Squaw Valley
Mammoth Mountain Ski Team U18 and U21 athletes traveled to Squaw Valley, January 4-6 to race in the Divisional FIS Super-G and GS. The races, which were Western Region Junior Championship qualifiers saw a number of Mammoth athletes on the podium including Tyler Wormhoudt (U18) and Kirk Carlson (U21) in first on the January 4 Super-G. Carlson went on to add two more podium finishes before the weekend was over with a third place in the second Super-G and another first in the giant slalom. On the ladies side Nikita Norton took a bronze in the second Super-G, with Natalie Riffel and Danica Hagen each took a fourth place finish over the weekend.
On Saturday the racers got to see Daron Rahlves forerun. According to the Far West Skiing site, Rahlves “showed everyone how to take air off of Easy Street.”
