“Oblivion” premiere
Get your ticket now to see “Oblivioin” with Tom Cruise, which was filmed in June Lake last summer, at a special local premiere screening on April 19 at the Minaret Cinemas. Doors open @ 6 p.m. Tickets are $15, and include the movie and appetizers. Beer & wine sold separately. Tickets are to be picked up @ the Minaret Cinemas Will-Call window. There will be drawings for prizes and paraphernalia from the movie, and a special introduction before the movie and sharing of stories from the filming experience in June Lake.

Sunrise Rotary Taste of Spring
Mammoth Lakes Sunrise Rotary holds its 11th Annual “Tasting of Spring” Wine Tasting and Silent Auction this Saturday, April 13, from 6-9 p.m. at the Bistro at Snowcreek Athletic Club.
Tickets are $35 per person or $60 per couple, and include food, wine and live music. Beer and cocktails also available. Grand raffle prize this year is a stand up paddle board.

Medicare workshop
If you have questions about Medicare or are turning 65 soon, come to a presentation of “Roadmap to Medicare 2013,” the basics of understanding Medicare. Also an introduction to HICAP (Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program) and how it can help you. Free to the public, all are welcome. At the Mammoth Lakes Library, in the Ellie Randol Conference Room, on Tuesday, April 16 at 5 p.m.

Measure R
The application period for the Town of Mammoth Lakes 2013 Measure R Spring Award is now open for submissions through Wednesday, May 1, at 5 p.m. Mammoth’s Recreation Commission is scheduled to review the applications on May 7, and make their funding recommendations for Town Council on Tuesday, June 4.

Scholarship opportunity
Are you a high school senior, or do you know a senior, who is interested in applying for the Eastern Sierra Audubon Society’s 2013 scholarships? Two, $500 scholarships will be awarded to one graduating senior from both Mono and Inyo counties whose work through higher education will promote the National Audubon Society’s mission.
Higher education fields include, but are not limited to: art, science, education, advocacy, habitat conservation, journalism, literature, law, public policy, environmental justice and outdoor recreation.
Applications will be accepted until Monday, April 15.

Playhouse 395 production call
Playhouse 395 is calling for applications for directors, producers and other key production staff for the 2013 fall youth production. Projects must be available for licensing, have commercial appeal to local audiences, and be able to be staged using local talent.
Directors who have submitted proposals will be asked to come to a Playhouse Board of Directors meeting on Thursday, April 25 between 4-7 p.m. to discuss their proposals.

Eastern Sierra Bowmen
