Suicide at Gull Lake Marina

On the morning of Thursday, June 27, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Mono County Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call regarding an unresponsive male at the Gull Lake Marina in June Lake.

Daniel Barnes, age 28, from Murrieta, Calif., was found unresponsive at the Gull Lake Marina in June Lake. Mono County Sheriff Deputies and Investigators, Mono County Paramedics, and June Lake Fire Department were dispatched to the scene. When units arrived on scene, it was determined that Mr. Barnes was deceased from an apparent single, self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. This incident is still under investigation by the Mono County Sheriff’s Office. Foul play is not suspected.
