Wave Rave to expand to Bishop

Wave Rave
Wave Rave is expanding to the old Meadow Farms liquor store in Bishop.

Wave Rave Snowboard Shop Owner Steve Klassen confirmed this week that he has closed escrow on the old Meadow Farms Liquor store building two doors down from the Chevron in north Bishop.

Klassen said he is in the process of submitting renovation plans to Inyo County.

He envisions the 1,900-square foot building will serve as Wave Rave’s outlet store. Klassen added that he will also more actively buy close-out items to sell at the Bishop location.

Klassen, who estimates he will invest between $80,000-$100,000 in tenant improvements, says he probably won’t put a Wave Rave sign up until he gets the old arrow sign working. The arrow sign seen in the photo at right used to work, and its use is grandfathered. Klassen wishes to bring it back.

The goal: a Halloween opening, or as soon as possible thereafter.

Why this location? Klassen said he had been looking for commercial property rentals in Bishop, but when the price came down far enough on this property, “I got interested,” he said.
