Sierra Nevada Resort … and Spa

Every time you turn around, they’re either tweaking or adding something at Sierra Nevada Resort.
This week, they’re changing the very name itself, to Sierra Nevada Resort and Spa.
If you’d dropped by this week, you would have seen work crews putting the finishing touches on a 2,500-square foot day spa, which includes steam and sauna and four treatment rooms. As the press release boasts, it is “Mammoth’s only hotel with an on-site spa with steam room and sauna.”
A few other changes of note:
Black Tie Ski Rentals has replaced Mammoth Mountain as the resort’s on-site ski rental and valet service.
Black Tie is providing resort guests with a 20% discount on rentals throughout the season (blackout dates are Dec. 19-Jan. 5 and Feb. 13-23).
The Resort now features “Cub Club,” which operates from 4-9 p.m. daily.
What is Cub Club? It is a place where you can drop off your 4- to 12-year old children while you go enjoy a meal or spa treatment.
The room includes movies, games and a craft area. Advanced reservations are required for crafts. Info: 760.934.2515.
The third piece of the puzzle is the new food and beverage team that’s been installed, recruited from the Ace in Palm Springs. Jameel Gaskins is the new Director of Food and Beverage and Brian Kiepler is the Executive Chef. You can book at www.opentable.com or call 760.934.9431.
Truax adds that the resort is taking reservations for New Year’s Eve. Rafters is offering a four-course tasting menu from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the after party beginning at 9:30 p.m. Jimmy’s is offering a four-course tasting menu for $65. “Both venues are already filling up with reservations and we encourage revelers to make reservations soon.”
