NFL: Manning’s legacy remains the same
If football could only be lip-synched like a halftime show …
Manning is a front runner. He is great when things are going great, but one of my favorite quotes and one that I use to inspire me on occasion is:
The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. -Martin Luther King, Jr.
I think Peyton’s 6’6” frame shrinks when the pressure is on. And in this game, you could see from the first couple of series, when they pressed him and the Hawks defense was hitting the receivers and the offensive line and Peyton … and Peyton decided he was done. And I hear people saying his team wasn’t as good as Seattle. But they gave him time to throw and he was clearly trying to get rid of the ball quickly because of the pressure. He doesn’t like the pressure. He is fine with the track meet football. When it got physical … he wilted like old lettuce.
So in short, Peyton’s legacy is unchanged. GREATEST Fantasy and Meaningless Game QB in history. He hasn’t played well in three Super Bowls now. Lucky for him Rex Grossman was the opposing QB in one of them.
NFL Mock Drafts. The season is barely over and every moron on the internet is doing mock drafts. They were doing mock drafts before the playoffs were over. Teams don’t even know who they are keeping and cutting, who they can get in free agency, etc. and people are picking mock drafts already. Hilarious.
The Winter Olympics are underway, basically taking place in a third world country. They have hotels for guests that don’t have the floors completed. Some hotels don’t have running water. What? You are telling me no one knew how bad it was before the entire world showed up?
But why am I even talking about the Olympics? It’s not even a sporting event. Just a bunch of sob stories and special interest stories with an occasional ski run thrown in.
… So long as I’m bnot talking about sports, let’s end on a rant about the hypocrisy and insecurity of the masses. A woman goes on that awful show THE BIGGEST LOSER and she is 5’2” tall and 262 pounds. Lets safely say she was a physical mess. She puts her all into it and wins the show, getting down to 105 pounds. Unbelievable from where she started. Now comes the ridiculous. She is now criticized for being too small. They are criticizing her for being like a model and putting out an unfair image she can’t maintain. Really? All the people watching that show were fine when she was an obese mess and then okay when she lost a little weight. But when they realized she wasn’t one of THEM anymore they turned on her. The type of people that don’t want to improve themselves to excellence, but instead want others to come back down to their level are the worst. She should be praised, not vilified. I would be willing to bet most of the people criticizing her did it while watching the show and eating a half gallon of Chunky Monkey Ice Cream.
