One of the two stairwells on the first floor of the Sierra Center Mall was removed last weekend. Drew Hild, a partner with Paul and Kathleen Rudder in the building, said the removal continues the remodel which began with the creation of a beautiful Events Center on the 2nd floor (former location of Mammoth Grill and Bar). In addition, all mall bathrooms have been remodeled. Hild said the goal with the stairwell removal is to open up the space and create a neighborhood feel and gathering space. He envisions comfortable furniture, free wi-fi and is in negotation with vendors to
provide some food and beverage service (at the very least coffee and pastries).
