Stop the littering

Dear Editor,

In my community, there are many beautiful, breathtaking, and stunning sites. Many people come to Mammoth Lakes for the landscape: the mountains, lakes, creek, and wildlife. Yet, there’s a problem in this beautiful town. People litter just about everywhere; this needs to be put to an end.

Littering is a horrible thing to let happen, yet there’s an easy solution. For example, the town can start putting trash bins near roads, trails, parks, and by bus stops.

Littering doesn’t just ruin the beautiful nature sites, but it harms our wildlife. I’ve seen dead fishes and dead birds laying around near the creek; also, I’ve seen cans and bags in the fresh, clean water.

In conclusion, I believe we can put an end to littering our natural life and plants here in our community. It can be an easy solution; therefore, just start by putting trash bins near trails, roads, bus stops, and sidewalks.

These are our steps as a community to keep our town as natural, beautiful, and clean as possible.
