According to Sierra Sundance Whole Foods Manager Ellie Kaylor, Sierra Sundance owners Silena Mandich and Tanya Klein, mother Denise Mandich, and Tanya’s daughter Ayla were involved in a major car accident on Sunday, October 26.

The family was driving home from San Clemente on Route 395 at about 7:30 p.m., when a Chevy truck in the left lane 10 feet ahead of them attempted a right hand turn into Coso Junction. Silena and Tanya’s car clipped the Chevy and T-boned a flatbed semi truck that was turning right onto 395 north.

The car hit the flatbed truck’s tires, or it would have gone under the truck.

Kaylor said that Silena is currently in Lancaster Hospital, while Denise was flown to Reno. Tanya and Ayla are home safe, with bruising.

“It’s going to be a long recovery for both Silena and her mom, but they’re all going to be okay,” Kaylor said.
