On Election Day, 42.62% of the 9,500 registered voters in Inyo County voted, according to Inyo County Registrar Kammi Foote. Mono County’s turnout, according to its elections website, was 53.2%.

She noted on Wednesday there were still 1,400 provisional and absentee ballots remaining to be counted and she hopes to have all the votes in Inyo County tallied by Friday.

Foote is encouraging voters to visit the Inyo County Election website (http://elections.inyocounty.us/) for the latest and final result. Given how close several races are, it is possible results may change.

While Mono County settled its key races in June, Inyo County has several positions in play.

The latest posted results show Karen Schwartz and Joe Pecsi as leading in the race to fill two seats on the Bishop City Council. They would replace current councilmembers Jim Ellis and Keith Glidewell.

The Bishop Unified School District Board preliminary results have Taylor Ludwick, Josh Nicholson and Kathy Zack winning seats.

In Lone Pine, Donna Carson, Cheryl Howerton, and Jason Olin appear to have won seats on the Lone Pine Unified School District Board of Trustees. The vote was also 70.39% in favor of Measure D, which will fund the Southern Inyo Fire Protection District ambulance services.

The Round Valley Joint Elementary School District appears to have two new members: Eduardo Sandoval and Jeff Perry.

On the state level, Inyo and Mono County reelected 8th Congressional District Congressman Republican candidate Paul Cook, while Republican Tom Berryhill won the 8th State Senate District.
