Hartley’s take on Super Bowl 2015
That was a tremendous second half of a Super Bowl. Can we have one Super Bowl where the first 20 minutes isn’t about two teams scared to make a mistake and playing conservatively? No one attacks at the start. No one wants to be the one to give something away. Then as soon as the first team scores, the other team goes on the attack. If I am coaching, I am attacking from the opening play. Put their ass on notice … no free quarters bitches. Strap on your big boy pants and let’s do this.
The action, once it picked up, was tremendous. I thought the Pats game plan was great. Instead of running the ball on first down and second down, they attacked with the pass. Spread the ball around.
I was at a Super Bowl party … obviously a Hawks party because I live in Seattle … which made for a delicious finish for me. I told them before the game started: the Hawks best defender is Sherman, the Pats best receiver is Gronkowski and I would put Gronkowski out WIDE and put 3 receivers on the field with him. If they don’t put Sherman on him, he gets the ball. Chancellor can’t cover him and a linebacker he will kill out wide. Chancellor doesn’t like to be out there in space, he wants to be in the middle knocking people out. The Pats did it … TD Gronkowski. I thought Belichick lived up to his rep … he went away from the norm and it paid off. Brady threw over 50 passes and they scored 28 points. They worked the Hawks LBs and kept the DL on the run. As much as I hate the football hobbit … he is a great coach.
The Hawks are unlikable. If you are a Seahawk fan you think Marshawn is “just being Marshawn.” To the rest of the league, he is a phony. If you are a Hawk fan you say Sherman is refreshing and outspoken … if you are the rest of the league Sherman is a bigmouthed clown who is the next Terrell Owens. Bruce Irvin was a troubled child, a troubled college student and is a troubled “adult” … nice job starting a full-blown donnybrook on the field of a Super Bowl because you lost. Jackass. Then he went on TV and basically called out the coaching staff for the call at the end of the game … defending Lynch of course. This is the same coaching staff that gave his dumbass a chance when everyone else knew he had HUGE problems. Punkass.
My favorite Seahawk jackass? The so-called “angry Doug Baldwin.” What a punk. He has classic little man’s disease. If you don’t kiss his ass … he loses it. He can’t take criticism or negative feedback at all … it’s all a personal assault on him. His parents did a horrible job raising that idiot. And he gets in the game and decides to pull a childish act, pretending to poop on the football to get back at someone. The network wisely didn’t show the ridiculous act and Hawks fans were ranting and raving about getting a penalty for it … because they didn’t see what he did. Cut your losses with Doug Baldwin and get a real WR. He is a marginal WR with a serious inferiority complex.
Seahawks problem. Same problem I said all year: they have marginal receivers. They had a few big catches … two to a guy who was working at Dairy Queen a week ago. He was completely covered on both passes, just taller than the DB because he is 6’5″. They put Browner on him and he didn’t have another meaningful catch the rest of the night. One receiver fell down … completely covered and caught a tipped ball while lying on his back. LUCK. When they needed a receiver at the goal line on a slant route to win the game, the receiver got beat to the ball and didn’t even put up a fight. There were about 4 times during the game where Russell Wilson rolled out and bought time, and after making a ham sandwich, having a shot of bourbon and readjusting his nuts … his receivers still couldn’t get open. They need to get rid of Little Dougie and get a real receiver. Tell Sherman to shut up, Irvin to grow up and Marshawn to RUN FORREST RUN. Enough of this team already. They are UNLIKABLE. Seahawk fans can laugh, but if those players played on other teams, Hawks fans would hate them too.
I heard some Hawks fans bitching about a pass interference penalty that wasn’t called in the Super Bowl that would have helped the Hawks down the stretch. Boohoo. And the refs missed a 15 yard roughing the punter penalty that would have given the Pats a first down too. Give it a rest with the penalties. I don’t hear Hawks fans bitching about the fact that their vaunted defense gave up a 14 point lead in the fourth quarter. Everyone is talking about the call at the 2 yard line, but think about this:
The Hawks had the ball and when their WR luckily had a ball hit him in the stomach and fall down, there was still 1:06 on the clock. And he got out of bounds so the clock stopped. The Hawks were busy celebrating and wasting time so they had to blow a timeout because they couldn’t get a play off before the play clock ran out. Dummies. So they run their next play and let the clock run down to 26 seconds before they snap the ball again?!? Okay if you are planning on running the clock down to nothing that is great but … they throw the ball and THE PICK occurs that seals the game. This is where the Hawks coaches get goofy. They claim they threw the ball on 2nd down instead of running the hardest bastard to tackle in the NFL because they didn’t have time to run three plays. Well that is just bs. When Lynch got tackled on first down there were about 50 seconds left on the clock and they could have easily lined up and run another play, a running play and had time to stop the clock and run the ball again. But since those jackasses let the clock run down from 50 seconds to 26 then they were screwed. And the reason is they panicked. Belichick didn’t call a timeout like the Hawks thought he would and it floored them. Carroll said the Pats had goal line personnel in so they had to run. But they only had goal line in because the dumbass Hawks had to call the timeout and gave them time to sub. The Hawks coaches blew that entire sequence. Or they got hypnotized by the Hobbit. That is what Hawks fans should be talking about.
Browns GM said WR Josh Gordon hasn’t responded to their attempts to bring him into the “culture they are trying to build”. What?? Get out of here. Culture? Are you kidding? They drafted Manziel because a homeless person told the owner to and because Manziel was texting the coaching staff during the draft to draft him so they can “wreck the league.” Culture? Laughable. They rewarded Manziel for drinking and missing practices etc. by promoting him to starting QB. They have kept Josh Gordon through more suspensions than I had in high School … all so they could win 7 games. Culture? Now we find out their sorry ass offensive coordinator quit because the GM and others were texting him what plays to call during games … a violation of NFL rules. A violation that could cause the team to lose draft picks and have the GM suspended. Now, if his name was Belichick and the team was the pats they wouldn’t suffer that fate. But …
Back to the Super Bowl. I have never enjoyed a game so much that my team wasn’t involved in. And the look on Sherman’s face when they lost after he was talking s&it about Revis DURING THE GAME when the Hawks scored to go up was … ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS … COULDN’T HAVE HAPPENED TO A MORE DESERVING DUMBASS. I have this one on my DVR and will put it on DVD and keep it forever.
Warren Sapp arrest. This guy has been a worthless piece of **** for a long time. And he has gotten worse and worse because the NFL network has kept him employed through domestic violence, filing bankruptcy to avoid child support and bills and more. So he has escalated, like a petulant child, like Marshawn or Sherman or Baldwin. So since that jackass has continued to screw up he decided he was bulletproof and took it to another level. He took it to THE U of Miami level. He works for the NFL network, basically an NFL employee. He goes to the Super Bowl … for work mind you. And gets arrested for soliciting a prostitute and assault. What the hell? The worst part is the FBI had a report before the Super Bowl that they were headed to Arizona to crack down on the ridiculous amount of prostitution that takes place every Super Bowl. You know good and well the NFL put out memos. And this jackass thought he would get away with it …
Now the Hawks’ competitive advantage is about to expire…………they don’t pay their QB Wilson. He was on a 3rd round rookie contract. Now they have to figure out what to pay him. And if you pay him $20 million, you’ve lost your advantage. Don’t kid yourself, they have some great players, but they don’t have salary cap issues. Now they do. You can’t keep Sherman and Chancellor and Thomas and Wagner and Maxwell and etc etc and pay Russell $20 million. And personally I don’t think he is worth $20 million a year. I heard Hawks fans on the radio talking about Wilson and how he should take less money and will take less money…..blah blah blah. Why should he? So they can give the money to people like Sherman and Lynch and Irvin. No. Enjoy the run……….it’s done.
The NFL’s Troy Vincent admitted it was the Colts GM that asked the NFL to test the Patriots footballs. Why would he admit that? Why even air that? What is wrong with the NFL leadership? And why is the Colts GM asking for testing of balls instead of admitting they lost because they traded away a number 1 pick for Trent Richardson and spent another first round pick on………can’t name him can you? Cuz he doesn’t play, he was inactive for most of the season. Nice accountability Colts GM. What a dumbass.
Belichick and Brady smart enough to do what Packers didn’t. They picked on a player position. The Packers had Sherman one-armed after getting injured … and they let him off the hook. The Patriots saw Jeremy Lane leave injured and they shredded his replacement … play after play after play. That was fun to watch.
The Rant. American cities are being forced to BAN sledding. Hold on now … soak that in … they are banning sledding. Why? Because people are letting their kids go sledding down paved roads with stop signs, guard rails, etc in the way without helmets and letting them get their heads bashed in … then they are suing the cities. Hold on now, they are winning their lawsuits. A jury made up of 12 of their fellow moron friends are awarding these lowlifes millions of dollars in lawsuits against their own fucking cities. The ignorance of people is exhausting. Exhausting. You let your kids do some stupid stuff and you sue the city, the very city you live in, just to prevent admitting you are a horrible parent. I saw some of the videos of these kids getting hurt and they are sliding down hills into parks where concrete pillars are, trees are, park benches are. They are sliding down hills where there are parked cars at the end and the kid goes airborne before getting to the bottom of the hill … and every single kid is without a helmet. But they are suing the city and winning. I would be in favor of the city sending out hitmen to kill these people suing them and the jurors awarding money that will cripple their very city and lead to restrictions on their very lives. Anyone involved with a lawsuit being filed or awarded a victory in these cases I think should be punched in the throat. What a bunch of losers. I hate everything about these stories. These kinds of people get saved from a fire by a firefighter or a wrecked car by a policeman and sue the city for being roughed up during the rescue … even though they weren’t wearing a seat belt and were at fault. These people go out and climb mountains and get lost snowboarding in avalanches and their families sue the government for not finding them … or for finding them but not before they get frostbite and refuse to pay the rescue charges. You should be ashamed of yourselves. If Karma does exist … I hope it finds you. And when it does, I hope karma has BAD, BAD intentions.
