Concerns recently surfaced about the contract between the Southern Inyo Hospital District (SIHD) and the Healthcare Conglomerate Associates (HCCA) on news of controversy involving the Tulare Regional Medical Center and its contract with HCCA. That controversy however seems to be politically motivated and without much substance when it comes to SIHD. In other words, disingenious.
Several emails were sent from Tulare County, including one to the Sierra Wave News from the Democratic Party in Bakersfield, as well as the local county supervisor, alleging improprieties between TRMC, HCCA, and the current state 26th Assembly District Assemblyman Devon Mathis—who just happens to be a Republican. The drive to involve voters in Inyo County into a Tulare County issue appears to be a blatant attempt to inject politics into local and state politics. The Sierra Wave also noted that a message was sent to another Lone Pine resident from a former member of the California Assembly backing Mathis’ opponent in the primary.
