Harpers to transform CJ’s Grill into a breakfast & lunch joint

By Miczulski

Renovations are currently underway at the former location of Cj’s Grill on Old Mammoth Road next to Mammoth Mountaineering Supply.

In a nod to old school Mammoth lingo, new owners Paul and Alisa Harper have begun renovations on a restaurant called “The Warming Hut” which they plan to debut next month.

The couple is doing most of the restoration themselves, including painting and laying new floor.

The property was built in 1978 by Miriam and Max Ruland and was originally called the Swiss café.

The Harpers gave The Sheet a quick tour on Monday July 2 and it resembled a construction zone. They’re working on new flooring, new painting, a new bar, a new atmosphere and a new menu.
