Feds say Crystal Geyser illegally transported arsenic

Crystal Geyser Roxane, the company that bottles water in Olancha, has been charged by the Department of Justice (DOJ) with illegally transporting arsenic. According to the DOJ, Crystal Geyser hired transportation companies to remove hazardous waste containing arsenic off-site from the plant but the toxic material was never listed in the transportation manifests in March and May 2015.

The transportation companies, United Pumping Services, Inc. and United Storm Water, Inc., were also charged in the 16-count indictment.

On July 19, a federal grand jury charged all three with violating the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act and the Hazardous Materials Transportation Act.
