ROLLISON’S GOT MO’ PROBLEMS

You’d think, being sequestered away in state prison, that Greg Rollison would be immune to further prosecution. 

Think again.

Rollison, who was sentenced to nine years in state prison for a variety of offenses stemming from an incident which occurred on Nov. 17, 2023 in northern Mono (domestic violence, attempted murder of a peace officer, felon in possession of an armory of firearms, etc.) was recently extradited to Broward County, Florida in connection with a 1987 break-in and sexual assault at knifepoint. 

According to a Coral Springs News story dated Aug. 3, advances in DNA technology helped break the case and identify Rollison as the perp. 

“On July 16, 1987, a then-unknown attacker scaled the side of an apartment building in Deerfield Beach and broke into a sleeping woman’s home through her balcony door in the middle of the night 

He tied her up, beat her, sexually assaulted her, then rifled through her apartment before sexually assaulting her again.” 

The victim in this assault was 85-years old. 

“Less than two weeks later, a similar incident was reported involving Rollison, then 21. He was charged with armed sexual battery, burglary and carrying a concealed weapon but was only convicted of the latter two [charges].” 

Detective Andrew Gianino investigated the attack on the 85-year old woman (now deceased) back in 1987. He is now a cold-case investigator, and took the initiative to reexamine the rape kit. 

Rollison now faces new charges of sexual battery and burglary with battery.
