Obituary: Keith Douglas Jung – Aug. 16, 1928 – Oct. 6, 2012

Doug grew up in Southern California. He earned his Petroleum Engineering degree from Colorado School of Mines in 1953 and an MBA degree in 1970 from USC. He worked in the Petroleum Industry for 39 years.

Doug had many interests besides work. In his younger years he enjoyed golf and tennis. He was an ardent sailor, an outstanding skipper who won many races. In 1984 he won the National Championship in his class.

He loved the outdoors and enjoyed backpacking and cross-country skiing. His lifelong passion was fly fishing. He built his own fly rods and tied his own flies. In pursuit of fishing, he traveled widely around the world.

Doug was a very accomplished artist. He studied under well known watercolor artists and completed art degrees. He entered his paintings in juried exhibits and won numerous awards. At the time of his death he had paintings in three exhibits.

Doug retired in 1992 and lived full time in Mammoth since 1998 where he was actively interested in town issues. He is survived by his partner, Brigitte Berman, his brother, Donald Jung two daughters, Lisa Jameson and Heidi Acedo; and two granddaughters, Lacy and Jami Lockhart.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday Oct. 20 at 5 p.m. at the Cunningham’s at Knob Hill Dr.
