MAKE A “HANDMADE” FILM
The Metabolic Studio, who brought you The Glass and Water Metabolic Orchestra last spring, is working on the next scene in its film, “Silver and Water.” On Friday, May 21, at the Lone Pine Film Museum starting at 7 p.m., artist Lauren Bon, the film’s director, will talk about the project with guest artists, theater director Walter Asmus and Robert Schaller of the Handmade Film Institute.
On Saturday and Sunday, May 22-23, a chorus will rehearse text from Samuel Beckett’s “Waiting for Godot” with Asmus from 2-5 p.m. Asmus, who worked directly with the playwright, will use this as part of the soundtrack for a scene in the film.
From 7 p.m. until late. Schaller will convert a PPG silo into a lab where you will learn to develop 16mm black & white movie film with the materials of Owens Valley replacing many chemicals usually used in developing film.
A screening of the short film married to the soundtrack made by the theater workshop on Tuesday, May 25, at PPG at 8:30 pm.
