MHS Track and Field at DML Chanpionships
The Mammoth High School Varsity Track & Field team recently participated in the Desert-Mountain League Finals at Knight High School in Palmdale. These athletes paved the way for future MHS track & field members, as many of them were the first ever to represent MHS in the DML Finals for their respective events.
Mammoth’s first ever 4×100 meter relay team was comprised mainly of distance runners; nevertheless, Carson Bold, Juan Lopez, Jacob Mahler, and Matthew Weber improved their season’s best by two seconds.
Bold also competed in Long Jump, earning 5th place with a jump of 17’7”
Emmett Hugelman missed this meet, but we look forward to great results from him next year in the 300 Low Hurdles and 100 meter dash.
Sophia Schuldt, sped past the other sprinters to a 3rd place finish in the 100 meter dash with an impressive time of 13.24.
Kylie LaFramboise was the first in the history of MHS Track & Field to compete in the shot put at DML Finals. Despite some very windy conditions, she had a great final throw of 18’9”
In the 300 hurdles, Schuldt and Amanda Kirkeby represented MHS, finishing 4th and 6th respectively.
Kirkeby also competed in the High Jump and placed 4th setting a personal best of 4’6”. In the Long Jump, she finished 7th place, again improving her personal best to nearly 13’6”
