Austen Murphy (top), chef at Kitchen 53 located in the Village at Mammoth, won last Saturday’s Burger Battle and a chance to compete in the World Food Championships in Kissimmee, Florida. He is pictured with the Mammoth Lakes Foundation’s Dion Agee. The event was a fundraiser for the Mammoth Lakes Foundation.

Jose Montes of Angel’s Restaurant, the winner of last month’s Burger Summit held at the Mammoth Outlet Mall on Main Street. He is flanked by event organizer Kathleen Rudder and Shira Dubrovner of the Mammoth Lakes Repertory Theater. The event was a fundraiser for MLRT. Maybe in the spirit of the original Super Bowl, Angel’s and Kitchen 53 need to square off for a final Burger Bowl.
