If you’ve had trouble recently trying to get Fire Insurance for your home or business in our fine, drought-stricken environment, your troubles are over.

Eric Olson of Olson Insurance Brokers is pleased to announce that he’s got a few terrific options for you.

He is now writing fire insurance locally, primarily through Allied Insurance and The Hartford.

In particular, The Hartford has some screaming deals for those with AARP memberships.

To catch up on Mr, Olson, he left Farmers Insurance in May, 2014. After a year’s penance of being saddled with a no-compete clause, he is now able to solicit not only new clients, but his former ones.

Olson, who operates the brokerage with his daughter Alicia, has also changed the focus of the business.

Whereas before, he had upwards of 2,500 customers, he is now interested in running a more boutique-style, customer service-heavy business. His goal is to recruit 400 or so clients for whom he can write their entire insurance portfolio.

In particular, Olson is excited about writing more commercial insurance. “Farmers was not really competitive in that area for the type of businesses we have,” he said, alluding to contractors, retail and restaurants.

“Leaving Farmers has given me the chance to reshape my business. It took me awhile to figure out what it should look like.”

As to working side-by-side with his daughter, Olson says proudly, “It’s like a ray of sunshine. She brightens the world every day. And she’s smarter than I am.”

He noted that since the year’s probation from Farmers, the phone’s been ringing a lot more.

Olson reminds locals that the next open enrollment period for health care begins on November 1. Penalties continue to rise for those who don’t participate. Swing on by his office on Mountain Boulevard behind Norco or give him a call.
