Lindsay Lohan DID IT!

Sierra Classic Theatre’s Murder Mystery Dinner has been a fall hit and a big fundraiser for community theatre for more than 10 years. This year, the plot is ripped from the headlines … of the National Enquirer! See if you can solve “Deadly Mountain High: The Rehab Mystery,” Sunday-Tuesday, Nov. 7-9 at Tamarack Lodge/Lakefront Restaurant in Mammoth Lakes, and again at Tom’s Place Wednesday-Thursday, Nov. 17-18.

The mountains have always been a place of healing, but when a group of celebrities come for some high-altitude rehab, things go horribly wrong: instead of a cure, someone gets killed!

Tickets include dinner and entertainment, and can be purchased directly from: Tamarack ($65 each) at 760.934.2442 or Tom’s Place ($35 each) at 760.935.4239.

More info: contact Allison with SCT at 760.934.7498.

Faces through Time

Celebrate the pioneering women of Inyo County at a special Altrusa of the Eastern Sierra event, “Faces Through Time: Pioneering Women of Inyo County,” 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 28, at Whiskey Creek Restaurant in Bishop. Tickets are $15 and include a buffet sandwich and salad luncheon.

Held in honor of Make a Difference month, take in a presentation by Roberta Harlan, Museum Specialist of the Eastern California Museum that will highlight some of the pioneering women of Inyo County who were not content with merely remaining in the background of life. You may recognize some of the names but do you know the stories of Marie Parcher, Lillian Linde Hilderman, Mary DeDecker and Tatsumbie DuPea who are just a few of the amazing women Roberta will discuss.

RSVP: Susanne Olson at 760.920.8819 or via e-mail at susannejolson@msn.com.

Bounty, Ghosts and Charlie Brown

First, the Bounty: Sheriff Morrison’s Bounty: The Convict Lake Tagged Fish “Money Tournament” takes place this weekend, Oct. 22-24, offering thousands in cash and resort prizes. Entry fee ($60) includes t-shirt, cap, pin, a gourmet barbecue and music on Oct. 23. For more info on registration and rules, call 760.934.3800.

For ghosts, visit the Village at Mammoth on Oct. 29 for the Town’s annual Halloween Carnival and Haunted House. Admission is FREE. Game tickets are just 50 cents, or you can purchase an all-access wristband for just $20. Time: 6-9 p.m. Carnival proceeds support Town of Mammoth Lakes Recreation Department programs. Enter, if you dare! (Insert evil-sounding horror-movie laugh here!)

As for the Great Pumpkin, the City of Bishop joins with the Bishop Union High School Senior Class for Trunk or Treat at the City Park between ballfields one and two on Saturday, Oct. 30. Suggested donation is $5 per vehicle or $10 for late registration. All profits will support the BUHS Senior Class. Get creative and come join in the fun, prizes will be given to category winners. The theme is “Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin.” Registration forms with available categories are available now at City Hall, 377 W. Line St Bishop.
