A record-breaking snow year will allow Mammoth Mountain to stay open for skiing and snowboarding through July 4 this year. This will mark the fourth time in seven years that it has been able to do so.

According to www.skiinfo.com, Mammoth’s 15-25 feet of packed snow earns the resort the recognition of having one of the highest recorded base depths of any ski resort in the world.

According to a press release from MMSA, “Due to the record-breaking snowfall in Mammoth and throughout the Sierra, Gov. Jerry Brown has declared an end to the drought that has faced California since June 2008.”

More than 1 million people have already visited Mammoth’s slopes this season.
