No tree stands

Hard to believe, but in this great Sierra metropolis, there is not a single Xmas tree stand for sale … in Mammoth OR Bishop. If you’re driving up from the south, bring us a few. Call me at 937.4613 and I’ll buy them for the MHS Boosters Xmas tree sales lot outside Vons.

Had dinner at the Restaurant at Convict Lake last night. They’re just completing renovations in both the bar and restaurant. Same great food prepared by Chef Matt Eoff.

In this past issue we profiled Sheet Man of the Year John Wentworth of Mammoth Lakes Trails and Public Access (MLTPA). Those PDF’s will be up tomorrow. Also learn about Mammoth’s top candidate for a Darwin Award this year, who followed up stripping naked in Tusk Bar at Main Lodge on the 9th by stealing two cars on the morning of the 10th, and then driving the wrong way on 395 and damaging three police vehicles during the subsequent pursuit.

Big week upcoming for long-winded meetings. FAA meeting on Tuesday, Planning workshop on Wednesday morning and a Council meeting for Wednesday night.
