Harris sentencing delayed again
Michael Harris, the local Eastern Sierra man who was convicted of 18 counts of lewd and lascivious acts upon a child under the age of 14 as well as one count of forcible rape on a female child under the age of 14 and at least seven years younger than her perpetrator last December still awaits sentencing by a judge. The original sentencing had been scheduled for Jan. 22, but was delayed as Harris attempted to obtained new legal counsel and appeal for his case. His request was denied and Therese Hankel remains his attorney. The sentencing had been rescheduled for today, March 26, but according to the Mono County Superior Court office, was moved to April 9 because the judge was sick. The sentencing hearing will be held at the Mammoth Lakes branch of the court on that day.
