There’s snow in them thar hills

It may be wet and slushy, but that is definitely snow at your doorstep. Mammoth Mountain Ski Area was socked in again this morning and Chair 1 looked like it was aching to start turning for the season. The official opening day for MMSA is Nov. 11, unless of course Mother Nature has other plans.

The recent weather has the MMSA reporting “traces” of snow, while Tioga and Sonora passes are closed to traffic, at least for a few days. The temperatures are expected to warm up again this weekend, so the white stuff that’s there will mostly likely melt away quickly, but snow enthusiasts are happily gearing up for the season ahead anyway.
