Spend time in rehab with SCT
Grab a drink, and pay close attention, because you, yes you, members of the audience have to put your sleuth hats on and help Sierra Classic Theatre’s cast and crew solve “Deadly Mountain High: The Rehab Murder Mystery.” This year’s show, that always puts the “fun” in fundraiser, will be staged in two locations: Tamarack Lodge this week on Nov. 7-9 and Tom’s Place on Nov. 17-18.
This time out, the show is not only skewering local culture, but also the “ripped from the headlines” culture of “higher” Hollywood. When a group of “celebrities” in need of professional help arrive at a new mountain drug and alcohol rehab center, they hope a reality TV show filmed there will help revive their hungover careers.
The rehab owner, a well-meaning doctor, and a congressman both have their own agendas, but no one expects that Stonedgate: Mammoth will turn into a crime scene when one of the “patients” is murdered!
With a story by Mirth White and Stacy Corless, directed by Holly Alpert (with assistance from Kristin Reese and Stacy Corless), the cast is full of colorful and dubious characters (like the pictured Dan Dennis).
Ticket prices include dinner and dessert. All proceeds support community theatre productions. RSVP ASAP: Tamarack Lodge 760.934.2442 or Tom’s Place 760.935.4239.
