Swing “Fore” pets

Get out your clubs and swing ’em for a good cause as part of the Cary Shibley (Spoiled Rotten Groomers) Memorial “Swing Fore Pets” Golf Tournament, Sunday, Nov. 7, at 9 a.m. at Bishop Country Club.

Proceeds benefit Mono County Animal Shelters at Bridgeport and Crowley Lake, as well as ICARE’s Spay/Neuter Program.

Check-in 7:30 a.m. Entry fee: Members $40/Non-members $60. Enjoy 18 holes of golf (scramble format), cart and range balls, continental breakfast, a barbecue lunch and beverages!

Prizes for low net and blind bogie, closest to the pin par 3s, longest drive (men & women), raffle prizes and a 50/50 drawing!

Beauty and the Beast, Jr.

Playhouse 395 proudly presents another in its youth series of production, “Beauty And The Beast Jr.,” set to make its debut on Friday, Nov. 12, and Saturday, Nov. 13, and continuing the following Friday-Saturday in the Bishop Union High School Auditorium, 301 North Fowler St. “Beauty” plays Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. with additional Saturday matinees at 2 p.m.

“Beauty and the Beast, Jr.” is an enchanting tale of humility, friendship and the unexpected love between Belle and “The Beast” that the whole family will enjoy.

Gobble up Turkey Bingo

Bring friends and grab a scorecard for a chance to win a Thanksgiving turkey! The First Annual Mammoth Lakes Women’s Club Turkey Bingo fundraising event takes place at Lakanuki in the Village on Sunday, Nov. 14. Registration gets underway at 6 p.m. with games beginning at 7 p.m. Play all rounds for just $15, which includes 3 game boards per round. Receive 3 additional game boards per round for $5 more. Be there early to get your lucky seat, then stay later to enjoy the sounds of The Core Shots performing around 10  p.m.  Drink specials offered all night.

14 months of library

Mammoth Lakes Friends of the Library is selling a 2011 “Life in the Eastern Sierra” calendar for $10. The 14-month calendar includes photos of Sam the Read Dog, a Halloween Story Hour, a Young Ladies Tea Party, and other library activities. Also local photographers have submitted photos of familiar landscapes and activities.

Copies are available at the library and at the Book Chalet on Old Mammoth Road. All proceeds go the the library and its programs.
