Ode to Joy

One of legendary composer Ludwig Von Beethoven’s gifts to the world, “Ode To Joy” is the highlight of a special Musical Story Hour with the Felici Trio this coming Wednesday, Feb. 23, at 10:30 a.m. in the Mammoth Lakes Library.

This performance is free and made possible by grants from the Holmes Foundation and the Jane Deming Fund. Info: 760.934.4777.

Taft comes to Mammoth

Students with disabilities will learn how to transition to independent living when Taft College comes to Mammoth Lakes Library on Feb. 24. Taft staff will deliver a presentation from 4-5 p.m. entitled, “Transition To Independent Living.”

Students will learn how to live on campus in a supported environment and further acquire job skills necessary for gainful employment. The presentation emphasizes “empowerment through education” and an “enriching college experience.”

Learn about the possibilities for your college student. As Taft likes to put it, “College is possible for ALL!” More info: contact Jennifer Wilson at 760.934.8541, ext 250.

The week-long workshop, Mar. 28- April 2, will meet daily after school from 3–6 p.m.

A pair of performances will take place on Saturday, April 2, with a matinee at 2 p.m. and evening show at 7 p.m. Cost is $75 per participant.

Call 760.934.8989, ext. 222, for more information or to register your performer!

Meet 8 a.m. at Glacier View Campground off U.S. 395 just north of Big Pine. Come prepared. The outing should end mid-day. For more information, call the leaders @ 938.2764.
